Finding a decent final resting place in Singapore is not easy as it looks like. The country is rich in culmination of different Asian and Western culture, so there is a wide religious cross-cultural references all over. But the dominant culture in Singapore is the Chinese culture, so there is no surprise that almost everything, including funeral and burial references, was based or patterned in the rich traditional Chinese culture.
But I am particularly looking for a Christian columbarium in Singapore where I can rest my ashes someday, when my time finally comes.
I started asking some of colleagues about this matter and they have suggested me a private columbarium here in Singapore that offers different niches and private funeral memorial services.
Comfortable with the place of the columbarium, I started my consultation with their representatives about their funeral packages and they courteously walk me through their funeral pre-planning stage for my future funeral service.
I have carefully arranged three crucial things in the planning of my inevitable funeral service:
1. The family arrangements
I already arranged every detail of my funeral to alleviate the stress and burden from my loved ones during their time of grief for my passing.
2. My final wishes
To prevent any unwanted disagreements and ambiguity amongst my family and relatives, I have already enclosed all my final words and instructions for my funeral to my lawyer and columbarium representative.
3. Funeral cost
I already managed the cost of my funeral to protect my family from any future inflation. I did this with the help of the columbarium management in order to relieve my family from any financial challenge during my funeral service.
After the planning the columbarium representative took me to their niches, where there are over 40,000 single, double and premium niches available for me to choose from. The starting price for their single columbarium niche is at $2,000 and $3,600 for their double niche. The prices are not bad considering the fact that this resting place is one of few private columbarium in Singapore with a traditional Christian heritage.
Funeral wakes and memorial services are also one of their prides. With their nine rooms that can hold 20 to 300 people, I can set my wake without leaving my family and friends any problem.
Back with the columbarium niche. I picked the double niche, so that my wife will not have any problem in the future, or the unexpected happen, (knock on wood). But it is better to be prepared than never. So I got the double for us couple, and for our children not to worry about in case the unwanted happens.
After all the planning, the columbarium management has sent me all the necessary quotations for me to review, and finalized after. But without any more hesitation, I already partnered with this columbarium to coordinate everything for my future funeral service.
This one of a kind columbarium in Singapore, in my opinion, is the best in terms of their services, accommodations and the overall funeral services. I would never go to another columbarium again.
